As an artist I’ve always been interested in the dichotomy between shooting the abstract figure and the work of connecting with the individual.

Some of the images in this gallery might be repeated in other areas on my site, as they often represent a nexus between figure work and simple clothed portraiture. In fact it’s very common for models from all genres to seek out an image that is for them (or for someone else) and more ‘about them’ than simply posing as subject matter.

Whether it’s for the subject themselves, for their someone special, or simply as a diversion when presented with an opportunity to capture both form and substance of the model, there are few genres I like to shoot more than Intimate Portraits.
